Fashion Challenge: Beaded Eglantine Cardigan

This post is rather late as this Fashion Challenge happened a few weeks ago, but here are three looks that I came up with for another What Would Emma Pillsbury Wear Fashion Challenge. For this one, we needed to feature the Beaded Eglantine Cardigan from Anthropologie. Although I created and submitted three looks, only two were featured. Here are all three:

5 Reasons I Wish I Could Wear Pink

I am a natural blue-eyed blonde with German and English ancestry who lives in Northern New York. What does this mean exactly? It means that I have super pale skin with a lot of pink undertones. This also means that I have never been able to successfully pull off wearing pink (or red) of any shade as a top. I really wish that I could because I recently came across this cute tops, in all sorts of pink shades! Hopefully someone else will be able to enjoy them in my place.

1. Two-in-One Chiffon Front Tie Cardigan from New York & Company- $49.95

What I Love: The color and the pattern. So soft and feminine! It's also really only one piece, but looks like two tops. How effortless is that? It's also available in a gorgeous shade of blue, which is much more flattering on me.

What I Dislike: It looks like an awkward length, a little too short. I'd be afraid of having to be yanking it down all the time to make sure I wasn't showing off any belly. It's also hand wash only.










2. Coral Dahlia Garden ruffle tank from Ruche- $52.99

What I Love: I am in love with this top! I love the colors, the print, even the ruffles on the neckline. Call me a sucker for anything light and girlie.

What I Dislike: There's only one left (size L).










3. The Gathering Tank from Anthropologie- $48.00

What I Like: The color. The neckline. The draping around the bodice, which I would assume flatters most body types. It also comes in a striking emerald green shade, which I have been told is a good color on me. Machine washable!

What I Dislike: The price. It seems a little much for what is basically a t-shirt, but I suppose it's too be expected from Anthropologie.












4. Rose Petal Rain cardigan from Mod Cloth- $59.99

What I Love: I saw this cardigan featured on LOFT Loves Teachers but unfortunately, no purchasing information. Happened upon it by accident today! Love the petals.

What I Dislike: Hand wash only.











5. Flutter Panel Bubble Hem shell from LOFT- $49.50

What I Love: The ruffle. The pattern. The banded hemline. Machine washable.

What I Dislike: %100 Polyester, which always feels cheap to me. The fact that I had to do a screen shot to get this image because I couldn't copy the image link.

I read somewhere, that today's gift was originally four "colly" birds, which I guess are a type of blackbird? Or a nickname for a blackbird? Either way, I thought I'd stick with the "calling" birds instead.

Fashion Challenge: Holiday I

This is my first look (of four) that I created for the Holiday Fashion Challenge over at What Would Emma Pillsbury Wear? I wanted to try to pull some of the greens and browns from the candy cane into the look. Not sure how successful the bag choice was in doing so. I also tried to steer clear of getting too literal with the red and white stripes of the candy cane. I'm okay with how it turned out.

Montage Monday-Patterned Preoccupation

I have recently discovered my love for outwear. In a dream world, and if I had the means, I would have one closet for shoes, one for bags, and another for outerwear. It wasn't too long ago when I was ignorant of the importance of a great jacket and it's affect on an outfit. I am slowly learning.

Caught On-Guard Coat-$114.99

I love fabrics and prints that are reminiscent of anything British: tweed; houndstooth; herringbone... This coat has that vibe in volumes.

Dusk Flurries Coat-$124.99

This coat looks so warm! I love the print and the piping detail on the pockets. The wide buttoned collar is an extra bonus!

Sought-After Style Coat-$84.99

Always a sucker for purple, I love the colors in this coat. And I hear that plaid is making its comeback.

A Fresh Coat in Print-$107.99

Now for something a little more girlie. For such a masculine print, I think the ruffles add the right amount of feminine touch to make this coat one of my faves.

Just Around the Block Coat-$229.99

Saving the best, and most expensive, for last. Between the pattern, the (removable) scarf, and the belt, this one is my favorite!

Montage Monday- I've Got a Sweet Tooth for Chocolate

 Roasting Chestnuts Heel-$99.99

I am so in love with these heels from ModCloth.com, which is completely unexplainable, because usually I prefer something more girlie. These definitely say "winter" to me, which is a difficult feat for heels to do.

The Traveler Boot-$39.99

I have never been much of a "bootie" girl, but I am slowly starting to fall in love with them. I think these are great because they look so warm, and affordable!

Museum Hopping Boot-$44.99

I love everything about this boot, the color, the shape, the bow. Not sure how they earned their name, as I'm not sure that I would wear these "hopping" museums. Bar-hopping, maybe. Museum-hopping, no.

Sweet Lady Jane Boot-$49.99

For the cowgirl in all of us. Or maybe the saloon girl? I want these boots. I want to wear them dancing. In my line dancing class. (That's right. I said it. I'm taking a line dancing class. What of it?)

Confluence Boot-$54.99

Again, another pair of boots that I would never have thought twice about, but here I am finding myself pining after them. These boots and I need to find a way of coming together, a confluence, if you will. :-)
